TGH first earned Magnet designation in 2005.

To be designated as a Magnet hospital, organizations must demonstrate excellence in nursing philosophy and practices, adherence to national standards for improving patient care, leadership and sensitivity to cultural and ethnic diversity.

“We believe Magnet designation enhances our ability to attract and retain experienced and talented nurses,” Deana Nelson, TGH’s COO, said. “This designation also reflects the high level of teamwork with our nurses, physicians and support staff.”
