The guidance includes information about the application process, CAC funding, training and other topics. CACs won’t be funded through the health insurance marketplaces, but they can seek funding from outside sources such as other available state, federal or private funds.
CACs are similar to Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act marketplace navigators, although navigator organizations may perform additional types of work such as outreach and education, according to CMS.
