Here are 10 states with the highest veteran medical care expenditures in fiscal year 2010, according to data recently published by Kaiser Family Foundation. Note: “Medical care expenditures” include dollars for medical services, medical administration, facility maintenance, educational support, research support and overhead items. It does not include dollars for construction or other non-medical support.

3. Texas — $2.98 billion
4. New York — $2.29 billion
5. Ohio — $1.76 billion
6. Pennsylvania — $1.7 billion
7. Illinois — $1.52 billion

9. Georgia — $1.19 billion
10. Tennessee — $1 billion
