In its 2013 industry report, HealthCare Appraisers identified physician employment and quasi-employment transactions as being among the most frequent types of hospital-physician integration activities in 2011 and 2012. These arrangements often appeal to physicians because of changing market dynamics and personal preferences, according to the report.

9. HealthCare Appraisers Partner Todd Mello and Managing Partner Daryl P. Johnson co-founded the company. Mr. Mello has more than 20 years of healthcare finance and valuation experience. Mr. Johnson has more than 25 years of valuation, financial and operational experience, more than 20 of which have been in the healthcare sector.
