Four law firms that represented whistle-blower Elin Baklid-Kunz filed the motion seeking fees and costs in federal court in Orland, Fla., according to an Orlando Sentinel report.
In March, Halifax agreed to pay $85 million to resolve a portion of a lawsuit brought against the hospital under the qui tam provision of the False Claims Act. Ms. Baklid-Kunz is expected to receive $20.8 million as a whistle-blower.
The motion seeking fees and costs indicates Ms. Baklid-Kunz’s attorneys and Halifax have not been able to reach agreement on legal fees.
