The Republican-controlled House Energy and Commerce Committee is demanding extensive details from White House healthcare reform planners on meetings they conducted with outside groups on the reform bill, according to a report by The Hill.

A letter from chairs of the committee asked the office for a list of every meeting, briefing or telephone call about healthcare reform with outside groups; all written materials about those discussions; and all written communications between the office and outside groups.

“We are troubled by the secret negotiations which apparently took place between the [office] and outside interest groups, especially given the specific promises of transparency regarding health care reform,” committee chairs wrote in a letter to the office.
