The original False Claims Act lawsuit claimed UnitedHealth received at least $1 billion in Medicare reimbursement by submitting inaccurate data. The DOJ abandoned much of that lawsuit Feb. 26.

On March 23, UnitedHealth countersued the government, alleging the government breached its contract with UnitedHealth and its Medicare Advantage business. The suit was filed in a federal Los Angeles court, according to Reuters.
