The allegations were first brought forth in a whistleblower lawsuit from an employee at the Easton, Maryland-based provider, according to a May 17 U.S. Justice Department news release.

Between Jan. 16, 2015, and July 5, 2018, the provider allegedly billed Medicare for radiation therapy and diagnostic services that on many occasions lacked the required supervision from a physician, according to the Justice Department.

The settlement is not an admission of liability by Shore Regional Health, the Justice Department said.
