The federal government alleged from July 9, 2015 to Oct. 31, 2015, the hospital knowingly billed Medicare Part A for medically unnecessary inpatient psychiatric care.
Livingston Regional Hospital’s settlement resolves allegations originally made in a lawsuit filed against the hospital by two former employees. The two former employees, who filed the whistle-blower lawsuit under the qui tam provisions of the False Claims Act, will receive $156,800 of the settlement.
