The lawsuit was originally filed by two Hospice Compassus employees and included allegations that the company submitted false Medicare claims for hospice care when it did business in Alabama, according to a Nashville Post report.
“This settlement returns to taxpayers almost $4 million that was wrongfully claimed from Medicare,” said U.S. Attorney Joyce White Vance.
