The settlement resolves claims that the company billed government healthcare programs for procedures that were not medically necessary. The government specifically alleged Rose Radiology improperly billed for radiology procedures referred by chiropractors and engaged in the practice of giving kickbacks to referring physicians.
The allegations against Rose Radiology originally came to light in two lawsuits brought under the qui tam provision of the False Claims Act.
Although Rose Radiology has agreed to this settlement, there has been no determination of liability in the case.
