The amount of the settlement with HealthTech Management Services was not disclosed, according to the report. Mr. Cardwell was on the payroll for HealthTech, which managed the hospital.
Mr. Cardwell was indicted for fraud and conspiracy, and has been considered a fugitive since August, when he disappeared.
