The man, Micah West, was reportedly intoxicated, confused and walking into traffic at the Louisiana State University campus, according to the report, which cites arrest documents.

EMS workers arrived on the scene and got him onto a gurney to transport him to the hospital. During the ambulance ride, Mr. West unbuckled himself, grabbed a paramedic and threatened to kill the worker, according to the report.

Subsequently, the driver of the ambulance pulled over to request police assistance, the report states. Mr. West then kicked the driver before police arrived and subdued him.

Medical attention was not needed for the EMS workers, according to the report.

Mr. West was charged with battery of emergency personnel.
