Ata Chaudhry, who owns MRNJ Newark, MRNJ Oradell and Hudson Radiology Center of New Jersey, and Tariq Din were accused of paying a total of $850,000 to 15 physicians and healthcare professionals to receive patient referrals.

Mr. Chaudhry and Mr. Din had previously plead guilty in September to second-degree charges of conspiracy, money laundering, commercial bribery and misconduct of a corporate official for allegedly paying the $850,000, according to the attorney general’s office.

The charges against both men stem from two independent investigations conducted by the division of criminal justice financial and computer crimes bureau and the office of the insurance fraud prosecutor, according to the article.
