The lawsuit, filed in Federal District Court in Kansas, claims the hospital owes the nurses roughly $5 million after employees altered nurses’ timesheets to show they had worked fewer hours than they actually had, adding lunch breaks the nurses did not take and failing to record when nurses arrived early or stayed late.
The case’s defendants include Midwest Division MMC, Healthtrust Workforce Solutions, Health Midwest Medical Group and Health Midwest Ventures Group.
“We have not been officially served this lawsuit, therefore it would be inappropriate to comment on a lawsuit that has not been thoroughly reviewed,” Christine Hamele, a spokesperson for HCA Midwest Health, told The Kansas City Star.
