The pharmacy, its owner and four pharmacists allegedly filled prescriptions that involved dangerous combinations, long-term and high-dose opioids exceeding pain relief guidelines, and patients suspected of doctor “shopping.” It was also accused of filling prescriptions written by prescribers suspected of illegal practices, the Justice Department said Dec. 6.
The federal court issued an injunction prohibiting the pharmacy and its employees from filling “red flag” prescriptions, settling the allegations.
