Here are three things to know about the legislation.

1. The legislation, SB 150, is sponsored by state Sen. Margaret O’Brien (R-Portage).

2. Under the bill, insurers are required to prorate the daily cost-sharing rate for patients who don’t use a full 30-day supply of their prescription drugs, according to the report. The bill also establishes a program for patients to synchronize multiple prescriptions for a chronic health condition, the report states.

3. Of the legislation, Gov. Snyder said, “Everyone should have access to high quality, affordable healthcare. By lowering the costs of prescription drugs we can help provide Michiganders with the opportunity to better manage long-term health conditions,” according to WJMN.
