The lawsuit against Medtronic alleged the company improperly induced physicians to recommend Medtronic devices to treat cardiac rhythmic disease.
The lawsuit was originally filed under the qui tam, or whistle-blower, provision of the False Claims Act.
Medtronic has agreed to pay the settling states a combined $362,362, which will be distributed to those states’ Medicaid programs.
