Of the $22 million, hospital claims that BCBS Georgia owes it for certain procedures, such as roughly $1.19 million for cardiac catheterization procedures performed in 2011, and another $2.24 million for claims involving babies who were delivered since December 2009, according to the report.
In addition to the $22 million in reimbursement, the hospital is also seeking repayment for attorneys’ fees. It has requested a trial by jury.
A spokesperson for the hospital said it will continue providing services to BCBS Georgia members, according to the report.
