Dr. Cortese has gone on record saying that the House Democrat healthcare reform bill fails to change Medicare reimbursement methods in a way that would promote quality care and cost savings.
Dr. Cortese, along with the Mayo Health Policy Center, argue that Medicare providers should be paid based on the value of care they provide. Medicare currently pays providers on a fee-for-service schedule.
