Man drops lawsuit against CNN over aired images of him in Florida hospital

Alexander Bradley, 34, voluntarily dismissed a lawsuit Tuesday brought against CNN in November for allegedly using photos of him in the hospital without his consent in a documentary, according to a report from The Boston Globe. No reason was given for the decision.

Mr. Bradley also sued the hospital, West Palm Beach, Fla.-based St. Mary's Medical Center, and the Palm Beach Sheriff's Office in February for allowing photographs to be taken of him while he was unconscious. That lawsuit is still pending, according to the report.

The images depicted Mr. Bradley recovering from a facial gunshot wound, allegedly inflicted by former New England Patriot's football player Aaron Hernandez. They were used in a documentary called "Downward Spiral: Inside the Case Against Aaron Hernandez," according to the report.

Mr. Hernandez was charged with intimidating a witness in the alleged shooting of Mr. Bradley, but a jury acquitted him in April. Mr. Bradley had testified against Mr. Hernandez in a double murder trial in exchange for immunity. He testified he was driving a car when Mr. Hernandez, who was also in the car, allegedly shot two people at a stop light, according to the report.

Mr. Hernandez was cleared of the double murder charge, but was serving a life sentence for another murder. He hung himself in jail five days after the jury decision, according to the report. Meanwhile, Mr. Bradley is also serving time for a shooting in a club, but is expected to be released by early 2019, according to the report.
