Kentucky Medicaid Nearing Shift to Managed Care

Kentucky is shifting the majority of its Medicaid program to private managed care organizations and closed its bidding processes for managed care vendors last week, according to a Bloomberg Businessweek report.

The state’s $6.5 billion Medicaid program plans to award contracts before the new fiscal year, which begins July 1.

State officials have not released the names of the organizations that have submitted bids, according to the report.
