Florida Gov. Rick Scott Signs Budget, Cutting Hospital Medicaid Payments by 12%

Florida Gov. Rick Scott has signed the state’s budget plan, which includes drastic cuts to the state’s Medicaid program, according to a Tallahassee Democrat report.

The legislation implements a 12 percent cut to hospitals’ Medicaid reimbursements, which amounts to a $510 million cut, according to an Orlando Sentinel report.

The Florida legislature approved the budget earlier this month, and Gov. Scott signed it yesterday, but first cut the $69.7 billion budget by an additional $615 million, according to the Tallahassee Democrat report.
