At a rally held by Rep. Allen West (R-Fla.), three hecklers were removed from the forum, including one in handcuffs, according to news reports. “You’re not going to intimidate me,” Mr. West said.
Rep. Lou Barletta (R-Pa.), said hecklers he confronted seemed to be plants by Democratic groups. “This is not genuine anger over Medicare,” he said. “It’s manufactured political anger that’s causing the disturbances.” Mr. Barletta offered a slide show detailing the GOP plan, which would not affect people now 55 or older.
House Speaker John Boehner (R-Ohio) led a conference call urging House Republicans to tell voters the White House spending plan was a bigger threat to jobs and health care than the Republicans’ plans.
