HHS Seeks Comments on Implementation of PPACA’s Antidiscrimination Clause

The HHS Office for Civil Rights has issued a request for comment on the implementation of section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act, which prohibits healthcare discrimination based on a nationally protected status, including age, race, sex and disability.

The information gathered will help inform HHS’ rulemaking. Comments will be accepted through Sept. 30.
