Santo Saglimbeni, former vice president of facilities operations, and Emilio “Tony” Figueroa, former director of facilities operations, pleaded guilty to participating in a mail fraud conspiracy from June 2001 through June 2006.
Mr. Saglimbeni and Mr. Figueroa awarded contracts for hospital repairs, construction, asbestos abatement and other matters to a co-conspirator’s company in exchange for cash, goods and services. The kickbacks rounded out to an estimated $2.3 million.
They were charged in a four-count indictment in June 2011 and convicted on the first two counts in February. They pleaded guilty to the other counts Tuesday. Each count of conspiracy carries a maximum penalty of 20 years in prison and a fine of $250,000.
