Former healthcare CEO sentenced to 2 years probation over kickback scheme

The former CEO of a company providing chronic care management services to Medicare beneficiaries was sentenced to two years of probation for his role in a kickback scheme, according to the Department of Justice.

According to court documents, William “Ed” Henry, a former owner and CEO of MyPractice24 in Decatur, Ala., entered into kickback agreements with physicians. Under the agreements, MyPractice24 agreed to provide kickbacks to physicians for referring Medicare beneficiaries to the company for chronic care management services, the Justice Department said.

Mr. Henry’s sentencing comes after he pleaded guilty to one count of theft of government property during a January hearing.
