Kayla Dubois and Christopher Wimmer face multiple counts of interception and disclosure of oral communications, the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office said in an prepared statement. Mr. Wimmer also faces a misdemeanor battery charge for holding open the eyelid of a sedated patient.

Forty-one patients are pictured in the selfies, some of whom were unconscious, according to the article. Three patients apparently agreed to the photos, police told The Times-Picayune.

Members of the sheriff’s office began investigating the pair in May following complaints from other emergency personnel.
