The hospital, which is owned and operated by for-profit, Nashville, Tenn.-based Hospital Corp. of America and Radiation Oncology Associates in Augusta, allegedly submitted claims for certain radiation oncology procedures that were allegedly performed without proper physician supervision, according to the report.
The settlement resolves allegations that were originally part of a federal lawsuit unsealed July 3. The suit was filed under the whistleblower provisions of the False Claims Act, according to the report.
