Instead of giving the hospitals a block grant, the county will give the Tenet Healthcare-owned hospitals 50 percent of billed charges for each uninsured patient cared for, up to a total of $3.1 million for St. Mary’s and $2.3 million for Delray Medical. Palm Beach will pay an additional $466,590 to pay for part of the salary of medical directors and for liability insurance.
