Mr. King was charged with unauthorized use of a vehicle and evading arrest. He is currently being held in the Dallas County Jail, with bail set at $7,000.
Mr. King reportedly told Children’s Medical Center Dallas employees he was there to shadow a physician, but was unable to produce any type of valid identification when questioned. He was then escorted out of the hospital building Tuesday morning, according to a hospital statement.
Police arrested Mr. King Tuesday night after officials said he stole an ambulance from another facility, Medical City Dallas Hospital. According to WFAA-TV, Mr. King attempted to flee from police in the ambulance with emergency lights turn on. He eventually crashed into a BMW and was seized by police.
Mr. King has a criminal history that includes charges of theft, driving without a license and credit card abuse. He was previously arrested in 2013 after posing as a Dallas firefighter at Plano firehouse, according to The Dallas Morning News.
