Under the agreement, USCIS will give CMS electronic access to immigrant, nonimmigrant and naturalized or derived citizenship information contained in the department’s verification information system.
Starting today, CMS will accept comments on the computer matching agreement for 30 days. Earlier this month, CMS also announced plans to create computer matching agreements with the Internal Revenue Service and the Veterans Health Administration to regulate information disclosed from the CMS Data Services Hub. The hub will allow the new health insurance exchanges to determine people’s eligibility for insurance coverage and subsidies by accessing information from various sources, primarily federal agencies.
