CMS had identified violations at the system’s allergy clinic last October. University of Missouri responded with a series of planned solutions to the deficiencies, but also explained that the allergy clinic is considered a physicians’ office and is not part of University Hospital.
CMS accepted that explanation, according to the report. In late November, it decided to not penalize the university any further.
University of Missouri did not disclose the list of deficiencies CMS identified nor its responses, according to the report.
