The two companies were at odds over who had the right to license commercial data originally licensed to WebMD by Change Healthcare. As part of the agreement, Change Healthcare has the exclusive right to license the data that was the subject of the litigation.
“As an independent healthcare IT company, we are neutral and objective in working with all stakeholders — including payers, providers and consumers — to create value for the entire healthcare system. Data plays an important role in that effort,” said Kris Joshi, PhD, executive vice president of network solutions at Change Healthcare.
Change Healthcare and WebMD will continue with normal relations.
