In a criminal complaint, Dike Ajiri was charged with healthcare fraud. A physician from Mobile Doctors, Banio Koroma, MD, was also arrested and charged with making false statements relating to healthcare benefits.
The charges allege a scheme that fraudulently upcoded Medicare bills for in-home patient visits. Mobile Doctors falsely claimed the visits were more complicated and longer than they actually were.
Federal agents executed search warrants at Mobile Doctors’ offices in Chicago, Detroit and Indianapolis, as well as warrants to seize up to $2.57 million in allegedly fraudulent proceeds from various bank accounts.
