Despite testing prior to the new computer system’s launch, the health system now has $6 million in unpaid Medicaid bills, and another $4 million in claims have been denied, Sandra Williams, Cape Fear Valley’s CFO, told state legislators Tuesday, according to the report. Ms. Williams said 100 percent of claims for chemotherapy drugs have been denied under the new system.
North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services Secretary Aldona Wos and NCTracks vendor Computer Sciences Corp. responded that they are working on the computer issues, according to the report.
