The 44-year-old accountant, Tiffany White, lost her Arizona certified public accounting license this year after state regulators found she billed clients for unnecessary services and then made unsanctioned withdrawals from their bank accounts, according to the article.
Last August, the Arizona State Board of Accountancy determined Ms. White “committed dishonesty, fraud or gross or continuing negligence … on numerous occasions by making unauthorized withdrawals from client bank accounts,” the article states. The board said Ms. White targeted at least seven clients and engaged in “discreditable acts in her billing and collection practices.”
Citing records, The Arizona Republic reports that Ms. White also violated state accounting procedures when she used social media to redress clients who complained about her practices on consumer websites, often outing them by name and referring to them as complainers and accusing them of reneging on agreements.
Ms. White did not respond to multiple phone messages from The Arizona Republic and could not be reached by the publication for comment.
