More than 1,400 employees are currently on LICH’s payroll, even though the hospital is serving a dwindling patient base, according to the report. No details have been finalized as to which employees will be affected, or when.

SUNY has been attempting to close the financially struggling LICH for more than a year, but it issued a request for proposals to sell the hospital in February. Interested parties have until March 19 to submit proposals.
