The union said Sept. 30 that the final vote was 817-142 for unionization.
The union told Newsday the vote affects dietary aides, nursing assistants and other workers, who will have the same benefits as unionized employees at other NYU Langone Health facilities, such as no-cost healthcare, a secure pension and childcare and education benefits.
NYU Winthrop told the newspaper: “We respect the National Labor Relations Board process and will continue to work in the best interests of our staff and our patients.”
