Nurses at three HCA Healthcare hospitals — MountainView Hospital in Las Vegas, Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo., and Menorah Medical Center in Overland Park, Kan., — have approved new labor contracts.

SEIU Healthcare Michigan has agreed to a tentative, three-year labor contract with Ann Arbor-based University of Michigan Health, averting a planned Oct. 15 strike.

Members of the National Nurses Organizing Committee, an affiliate of National Nurses United, plan to hold a one-day strike Oct. 25 at University Medical Center in New Orleans.

Registered nurses at Stanford Health Care Tri-Valley in Pleasanton, Calif., part of Stanford Health Care, have approved a new labor contract. 

Staff from Rio Rancho-based University of New Mexico Sandoval Regional Medical Center-A Campus of UNM Hospital ratified a union contract Oct. 13, addressing staffing ratios and wages.

Union nurses of Health Professionals and Allied Employees Local 5089 have approved a new contract with University Hospital in Newark, N.J.  

Members of the National Union of Healthcare Workers are set to begin an open-ended strike Oct. 21 at Kaiser Permanente locations in Southern California.

McLaren Flint (Mich.) Hospital, part of Grand Blanc, Mich.-based McLaren Health Care, said it is suing multiple unions for alleged illegal tactics during contract negotiations.

Members of AFSCME Local 875 are set to walk off the job Oct. 20 at McLaren Flint (Mich.), ABC affiliate WJRT reported.  

Union nurses at Mission Hospital in Asheville, N.C., have approved a new labor contract with Nashville, Tenn.-based HCA Healthcare, which owns the hospital.
