Overall, the state laid off 3,805 workers, which was less than the 6,270 the state targeted. The mass privatization of LSU’s hospitals represented a majority of those layoffs, and the biggest round of layoffs occurred at Interim LSU Public Hospital in New Orleans, with 1,060 people let go in the past year.

• Bogalusa Medical Center (Bogalusa): 30
• Lallie Kemp Medical Center (Independence): 30
• E.A. Conway Medical Center (Monroe): 23
• Huey P. Long Medical Center (Pineville): 10
In June, LSU finalized several major portions of its privatization plan, including the closure of W.O. Moss Regional.
