The three non-profits are expected to sign an agreement, which could become public after the University of Louisville’s board meeting on Nov. 11.
Under the deal, CHI would inject approximately $200 million in capital into the new system. CHI is currently a joint venture partner with Jewish Hospital Healthcare Services in JHSMH. CHI’s CARITAS Health Services merged with Jewish to form JHSMH in 2005.
The specific structure of the deal is yet to be determined, but CHI could have as much as a 70 percent stake in the overall company, according to the report.
