Under the agreement, Lakeview Regional will become one of Tulane Medical Center’s campuses, but will retain its original brand name. The agreement will also allow Lakeview Regional physicians to collaborate more closely with physicians at the Tulane Hospital for Women and Children in Metairie, La.
Officials said care will not be interrupted at either location during and after the transaction. Officials also said there are no plans to eliminate jobs at either campus.
The financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
“We’re looking forward to many positive changes associated with this new alignment — but there are also a few key things that will not change,” said William Lunn, MD, president and CEO of Tulane Health System. “Lakeview Regional will always maintain its commitment to providing the Northshore community with expert, compassionate care. [Lakeview Regional’s] culture of patient care and employee and physician engagement are among the best in the nation, and we look forward to applying many of the Lakeview Regional learnings and processes at our Southshore campuses to improve patient care throughout our region.”
