The new 44-bed facility would replace an existing 82-bed building, built in 1963, which would then house administrative offices, laundry and dietary services for a nursing home.

The new hospital, to be completed in 2012, would be financed by a $35.5 million loan from the Department of Housing and Urban Development, still to be finalized, and $18.1 million from cash reserves.
