The sale of Victor Valley Community Hospital has undergone some controversy. Previous bidders include Prime Healthcare Services, with a bid of $31.5 million, which California Attorney General Kamala Harris rejected. Prime executives have said they believe the rejection was politically motivated and a favor to the Service Employees International Union. SEIU is currently undergoing a labor dispute with Prime Healthcare.

St. Mary Medical Center’s offer will undergo review by the U.S. Bankruptcy Center and AG Harris.
