Financial details of the deal were not disclosed. A release from RGHS said the new deal would help the 131-bed UMMC “address the changes and challenges of healthcare reform and will maintain all local control of UMMC operations.” Previously, the two systems had partnered on pathology, urology, general surgery and gastroenterology services since 2008, according to the release.
Additionally, RGHS leaders told the Democrat & Chronicle they were in talks to affiliate with Clifton Springs (N.Y.) Hospital & Clinic. RGHS, which has 748 beds, said an announcement of the affiliation with the 262-bed Clifton Springs could be made in the next few months.
