Prime Healthcare Foundation, the nonprofit affiliate of Ontario, Calif.-based Prime Healthcare Services, signed a definitive agreement to acquire East Liverpool, Ohio-based River Valley Health Partners, which includes 152-bed East Liverpool City Hospital, in mid-October.

The acquisition now awaits approval from Ohio Attorney General Mike DeWine and is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016.

“The unanimous vote emphasizes the overwhelming local support for this transaction. Prime Healthcare will be a great asset to our community,” said RVHP Board of Trustees Chairman Pete Wicks.
