Under the agreement, which officials signed in November, OHSU and Adventist Health will share a bottom line and operate as a unified system. OHSU’s research and education initiatives and nonclinical activities and services were not part of the deal.
Each organization will retain its existing hospital licenses, capital assets and employees. Officials also selected a board of managers comprising representatives from each organization to oversee the combined entity.
