The 18-month project, which started in Oct. 2009 and is called Ohio on the CUSP: Stop BSI, aims to reduce the mean CLABSI rate within Ohio to less than one per 1,000 catheter days and improve safety culture by 50 percent in participating hospitals.
By March, the CLABSI rate had dropped to 1.25.
