North American Partners in Anesthesia acquires ProCare Systems: 4 things to know

Melville, NY-based North American Partners in Anesthesia has acquired Grand Rapids, Mich.-based ProCare Systems, a management services organization that specializes in chronic pain management.

"As a strong, high-quality organization with significant expertise in chronic pain management, ProCare will add tremendous value to NAPA in furthering our goals and commitment to excellence in this area of care," said NAPA CEO John Di Capua, MD.

Here are four things to know about the acquisition:

1. The acquisition bolsters NAPA's continued growth in the Midwest, providing anesthesia and management services to healthcare facilities and practices within the region.

2. Under the deal, ProCare will focus on managing and growing chronic pain management practices throughout the U.S.

3. A physician-led organization, ProCare has more than 20 years experience in practice development, practice management and medical research. ProCare currently services three chronic pain management practices at 13 locations throughout Michigan.

4. NAPA currently manages 27 hospital and office-based chronic pain management facilities.

5. NAPA provides anesthesia and management services to 79 hospitals and over 50 ASCs in 10 states.

“After getting to know one another and coming to understand our respective visions for the industry, both sides recognized that we had a unique opportunity to scale ProCare’s value-based-care approach through NAPA’s national pain-management network,” said President and co-founder of ProCare Systems Fred N. Davis, MD.
